International Educator Intern Program

Do you like learning about other cultures? Interested in sharing your own culture? Then, why not become a Host Family and Ambassador for Alabama Education!

Alabama International Education and Economic Partnership is partnering with the Alabama State Department of Education [ALSDE] to bridge the deficit of STEM teachers for schools in the Montgomery area. We have an excellent opportunity for you to be a part of the solution! We are looking for families willing to host one or more interns for generally a month. These interns will attend AL Partnership’s International Educator Intern Program. An in-depth orientation program that highlights cultural transitions and an understanding of the American school system. These international educators want to assimilate into the Alabama way of life because they are working on pursuing an Alabamian teaching certificate that compliments their international credentials.

A host family is the initial place that allows teachers to become acclimated to Alabama as well as some of the American norms. They are adults, so if you were to look at it, they would be a visiting a “foreign cousin” with a built-in schedule! All transportation to and from internship activities are provided by the intern.
