[Business Conference] LG Education/Sports Vertical Team

ALIEEP had a successful business meeting with LG Electronics in the ACHE (Alabama Commission on Higher Education) Conference room on Thursday, April 18, 2024. With the attendance of Hon. Gerald Dial and Senator Singleton, over 13 Alabama educational leaders including Jefferson County School District joined the meeting to observe the cutting-edge AI technology of LG Electronics for STEM education and implement it in Alabama classrooms.

Philip Shin, LG Electronics Education/ Sports Vertical Team Leader, introduced a smart robot named CLOi which has been widely accepted and showcased at the 2023 ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) conference. CLOi has various functions including autonomous driving and AI curriculum development in a variety of topics such as math and coding. CLOi can serve as an assistant teacher bringing out students’ interest in STEM and improving their classroom participation.

Team leader Shin has emphasized that Alabama could be the first state to adopt smart classrooms in the US with LG’s technology. Meesoon Han, Executive Director of the ALIEEP pointed out the importance of continuous effort in after-service for the success of the products and Mr. Shin also responded with great confidence in the quality of LG products.

With enthusiastic cooperation from Alabama education leaders, LG will set up a showcase classroom in the Jefferson County School District Department of Education office on June 4th and invite Alabama educational leaders.
