STEAM Educator Program
The STEAM Educator Program enhances educational quality in Alabama by addressing the shortage of qualified STEM and foreign language teachers. Through partnerships with local K12 school districts and Alabama universities, the program brings foreign educators to the U.S. for professional development, cultural exchange, and teaching opportunities. These teachers gain valuable experience in American classrooms while sharing their own cultural practices and knowledge, particularly in STEM subjects. The STEAM Educator Program benefits Alabama students by exposing them to diverse teaching methods and cultures, improving their academic outcomes in critical subjects like math and science. Ultimately, the program enhances mutual understanding, enriches both educators and students, and helps meet the state’s educational needs, preparing students for future employment and economic growth.
How The Program Works
A-KEEP dba ALIEEP has partnered with the Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) to allow qualified professionals with backgrounds in education to convert their foreign post-secondary certificates to an Alabama teaching certificate. With this partnership, ALIEEP has opened doors for foreign teachers to teach in the U.S.

Join Us!
By partnering with local schools, we provide foreign teachers with training, professional development, and cultural immersion.
This project was developed to promote the interchange of U.S. and foreign educators and enhance mutual understanding between the people of the United States and other countries. Exchange educators sharpen their professional skills and participate in cross-cultural activities in schools and communities, and they return home after the exchange to share their experiences and increased knowledge of the United States and the U.S. educational system. Alabama offers a range of opportunities, especially if you enjoy HISTORY! This state is the heart of the Civil War and Civil Rights Movement. Alabama schools are greatly in need of qualified teachers credentialed in the critical subjects, especially math and the sciences.
