ALIEEP and Study Alabama Sign Memorandum of Understanding to Share Global Experiences in the Role of Alabama Higher Education
MONTGOMERY, AL — On June 11, 2024, at 10:00 am during the quarterly board meeting of the Alabama International Education and Economic Partnership (ALIEEP), Executive Director Meesoon Han along with Study Alabama Co-Executive Director, Dr. Stacye Fraser Thompson signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to promote academic advancement, global education, and international links between Alabama and other countries.
“At Study Alabama, we value our relationship with ALIEEP and we look forward to working with them to improve global educational development in Alabama,” said Dr. Stacye Fraser Thompson, Co-Executive Director of Study Alabama and Coordinator of International Student Services and Academic Advisor at Jefferson State Community College.

Dr. Jim Purcell, Executive Director of the Alabama Council on Higher Education, and Honorary Retired State Senator Gerald Dial were also in attendance to commemorate the MOU signing. “This partnership will make a global difference and Alabama will benefit,”  Dial said.

Based in Montgomery, ALIEEP partners with the Korean Ministry of Education and several government agencies including the Alabama State Council on the Arts, the Alabama State Department of Education, and the Alabama Commission on Higher Education. The Alabama Council on Disabilities, Pike Road Schools, the National Endowment for the Arts, and Hodges Commercial Real Estate also partner with the organization formerly known as the Alabama-Korea Education and Economic Partnership (A-KEEP) to advance Alabama.
The mission of ALIEEP is to provide multilingual and multicultural EDUCATION to students, professionals, and entities of Alabama and other nations; enhance workforce development for the ECONOMIC prosperity of individuals and communities; and facilitate an International PARTNERSHIP between Alabama and other nations’ institutions, corporations, and agencies by bridging differences.
