[MOU Signing Ceremony] Renewal of strong partnership with Troy University
May 14 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
On May 14th, 2024, we marked a significant milestone in our journey from the Alabama Korean Education and Economic Partnership (AKEEP) to the broader Alabama International Education and Economic Partnership (ALIEEP). This transition was highlighted by the renewal and reaffirmation of a longstanding Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Troy University.
For over a decade, Troy University and our organization have forged a strong bond, dedicated to enriching our communities through education and cultural exchange. This updated MOU serves as a testament to our enduring commitment to collaboration and mutual growth for international education.
Among the highlights of our partnership are the various multicultural activities we have jointly organized, including Korean theatrical performances and exhibitions. These initiatives have not only showcased the richness of Korean culture but have also fostered understanding and appreciation among diverse communities.
Moving forward, our reinforced partnership will pave the way for the implementation of multicultural diversity programs and the creation of internship opportunities tailored to Troy University students. These initiatives will not only enhance the educational experience of students but also contribute to the overall enrichment of our global communities.
The signing ceremony, hosted in the Chancellor’s conference room and overseen by Dr. Hawkins, was graced by esteemed guests. Among them were ALIEEP Co-founder Hon. Gerald Dial, ALIEEP Vice Chairperson and Executive Director of ACHE Dr. Purcell, ALIEEP Board of Directors member and Executive Advisory Council member of Sorrell College of Business Lance Hunter, Vice Chancellor of Troy Montgomery campus Mr. Ray White, and Troy University Senior Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs Dr. Kerry Palmer. Their presence not only dignified the occasion but also symbolized a unified commitment towards advancing education and fostering economic prosperity in Alabama and beyond.
