Retain Alabama's International Educator
Program
Pathway for International Graduates in Alabama to Become Public School Teachers
About The RAIE Program
The RAIE (Retain Alabama’s International Educator) Program supports international graduates from Alabama universities who are ready to transition from academic study into professional teaching careers.
Unlike traditional academic programs, RAIE is a career-focused pathway that connects qualified candidates with opportunities in Alabama’s K–12 education system. The program provides guidance, support, and direction toward long-term employment in teaching.
Why the RAIE Program ?
Alabama has a growing need for qualified educators, especially in high-demand subject areas. At the same time, many international graduates have strong academic backgrounds and the potential to contribute meaningfully to the education system.
The RAIE Program was created to:
- Support Alabama’s education workforce needs
- Retain skilled international graduates within the state
- Provide structured pathways into teaching careers
- Strengthen classrooms through diverse global perspectives
