About Foreign Credentials Conversion

ALIEEP has the intellectual property copyright for the holistic approach of the Foreign Credential Conversion from a foreign teaching certificate to Alabama’s professional teaching certificate and pathways to employment or a teaching opportunity for an authentic experience. Almost a decade ago, AKEEP ( dba ALIEEP)’s innovative leaders collaborated with the pioneering leaders of the Alabama Department of Education. There we said the pathway to convert foreign teaching certificates to Alabama.

How is ALIEEP authorized to provide this service?

ALIEEP facilitates the process of converting a foreign teaching certificate into Alabama’s required certificate through its intellectual property rights and in partnership with the Alabama Department of Education.
 
Additionally, ALIEEP partners with Alabama’s public universities, specifically the colleges of education, to provide an optional Alabama teaching certificate program. The Alabama State Department of Education provides some benefits to streamline the conversion process.

What steps must teachers complete?

ALIEEP offers foreign credential conversion courses in partnership with Alabama’s public universities, in collaboration with colleges of education, an optional joint Alabama Teaching Certificate program, which the Alabama State Department of Education has laid out, and assists in the following ways and more.

  • By verifying their credentials through transcript validation, additional education courses may not be required. Validation must be conducted by an approved agency.
  • All teachers, Alabamians and internationals, must take the Praxis test.
  • Must establish a legal and valid residency in Alabama.
  • Obtain a U.S. Social Security Number
  • Clear a background check by the Alabama State Bureau of Investigation.
  • Applying with all required documentation.
ALIEEP directs all teachers to the Educational Assessment, Inc. (EA, Inc.) for the Free Preliminary Analysis.

Comparative Studies of Different Education Systems

The ALIEEP team teaches different educational systems across foreign countries, states, districts, schools, and more, at various levels.

  • One should know that one’s certificate expires and learn how to fulfill and prepare for the renewal requirements.
  • Taking advantage of the Alabama Tenure Law and how to secure a permanent career.
  • Knowing how each school district differs from the other in its operation, the academic requirements for submitting curricula, instructional schedules, etc.

What should teachers remember?

Teaching certificates in Alabama are valid for five years before renewal is required.
