Festival Overview

Flimp Festival

The FLIMP Festival is an annual community event organized by the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts, designed to celebrate creativity, imagination, and family-friendly cultural experiences. Held in the museum’s Sculpture Garden, the festival brings together art, music, hands-on activities, and local community partners in an open and welcoming environment.

The event features interactive art stations, live music, food vendors, and various creative workshops that allow visitors of all ages to engage with art in a playful and accessible way. As a family-oriented festival, FLIMP emphasizes participation, exploration, and community connection through artistic expression.

Calligraphy

The first activity was a Chinese calligraphy station. I would like to sincerely acknowledge the support from the Culture Center of TECO in Atlanta for providing water-writing cloths and calligraphy brushes, which made this activity possible. Many visitors found the experience highly engaging and novel, and some even expressed interest in purchasing the materials after trying them.

Mahjong Bingo

The second activity was Mahjong Bingo, which had been introduced in previous ALIEEP events. This game continued to attract visitors of all ages by combining a familiar bingo format with elements of Chinese culture, making it both accessible and culturally meaningful.

Through these two interactive stations, ALIEEP was able to draw in festival attendees and further introduce the organization’s mission and various programs. These activities created natural opportunities to engage with the public and promote cultural exchange in a fun and approachable way.
