What is the Intern Exchange Program?

The J-1 Intern program lets you learn job skills and knowledge through mentorship. It helps you understand American culture and work life while improving your professional abilities. Interns/trainees will assist with productivity and increase performance measures at ALIEEP.

Historically, ALIEEP has focused on the education industry; however, we are expanding to other industries. Our Host Organizations, work site placement, have been local educational institutions. We are working to formulate partnerships with manufacturers, insurance companies, and more.

Please note that financial sustainability must be provided to ALIEEP. Interns/trainees will be provided a stipend; however, budgeting and cost allocation should be completed before arriving in the United States.

Additionally, interns/trainees should not work or receive payments outside the structured program. However, volunteerism and community engagement are encouraged.

Who is the Ideal Candidate?

  • Enrolled in and completing a degree at an accredited institution
  • Junior, Senior, or Graduate student (completed two years of academic studies) *no more than 12 months before the program start date

What Our Intern Say

Testimonial
International intern from India working at ALIEEP
I am especially grateful to Mrs. Han for believing in me and supporting me from the very beginning. From day one, I felt welcomed and motivated. I joined the team, excited to learn, contribute, and grow. One of my long-term goals is to become a STEAM teacher and work within Alabama’s education system, and this internship felt like a step in the right direction.

One aspect I valued most about the internship was the creative autonomy. I was empowered to explore new formats — whether producing videos, designing flyers, or developing social media content — and encouraged to innovate. The team was consistently supportive and receptive to feedback, offering insightful suggestions...
