Taiwan–Alabama Education MOU

In 2022, the Alabama Commission on Higher Education and the Alabama Department of Education signed an Education Memorandum of Understanding with to strengthen bilateral cooperation in language education, cultural exchange, and academic collaboration.

The agreement enhances academic exchange between both sides, supports the placement of qualified Mandarin teachers in Alabama, and encourages U.S. students to study Mandarin in Taiwan or serve as English teaching assistants—helping Taiwanese K–12 students improve their English proficiency.

This landmark partnership advances bilingual learning, expands cross-cultural opportunities, and deepens long-term educational ties between Alabama and Taiwan.
