Montgomery, Alabama, June 12, 2025 – The ALIEEP-AUM Resident Program continues to create opportunities for international educators seeking to further their education and pursue teacher certification in Alabama. Through the partnership between ALIEEP and Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM), qualified candidates are able to access academic programs, professional development resources, and support services designed to help them achieve their educational and career goals.
Currently, ALIEEP is supporting 15 candidates as they progress through various stages of the Resident Program and related educational pathways, with an additional four candidates actively moving through the admissions process. These candidates represent a diverse range of educational backgrounds and professional experiences, all working toward opportunities to make a positive impact in Alabama schools and communities.
The Resident Program provides a structured pathway for international educators to pursue certification while continuing their professional development. Candidates begin the process by applying through ALIEEP, where their educational credentials, professional experience, and career goals are reviewed. Once approved, candidates receive guidance throughout the university admissions process, certification requirements, and program planning.
Through collaboration with AUM, participants have access to academic opportunities that support career advancement while contributing to Alabama’s growing workforce needs. The program is designed to strengthen teacher development, international education, workforce readiness, and cross-cultural engagement.
