Montgomery, Alabama, June 17, 2025 — Ms. Shivani Dasaraju from Warangal, Telangana, continues to embody ALIEEP’s mission of connecting talented international educators with Alabama classrooms. After completing her studies at Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM), Ms. Shivani successfully transitioned into Alabama’s educational system through ALIEEP’s S.T.E.A.M. Educator Program, where she has continued to inspire students through engineering, robotics, and computer science education.

At Brewbaker Technology Magnet High School, Ms. Shivani teaches engineering, robotics, and early career computer science courses. Her passion for STEM education and hands-on learning has helped students develop technical skills, confidence, and curiosity both inside and outside the classroom.

Over the past year, Ms. Shivani’s impact has extended well beyond daily classroom instruction. As a Robotics Coach and Mentor, she guided students through the design, construction, programming, and testing of competition robots while helping them strengthen teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Watching our students earn the title of Alabama State VEX Robotics Champions was one of the proudest moments of my teaching career. Their success was a reflection of countless hours of hard work, dedication, teamwork, and a shared commitment to excellence throughout the season.

Students participating in BrewTech Robotics also experienced success throughout the year. During competition season, Team OVO completed qualification rounds as one of only two undefeated teams, while all three BrewTech teams advanced to the semifinals. Team Redux earned both the Design Award and Skills Champion recognition, highlighting the program’s commitment to engineering excellence.

The team’s success eventually led them to the VEX Robotics World Championship in St. Louis, Missouri, where students had the opportunity to compete alongside some of the best robotics teams from around the world. The experience exposed students to global innovation, engineering challenges, and cultural exchange while allowing them to represent Alabama on an international stage.

Beyond competitions, Ms. Shivani continues to build meaningful relationships with her students. One of her most memorable moments came when students presented her with a handwritten appreciation card expressing gratitude for her mentorship, guidance, and support. The gesture reflected the positive classroom environment she has worked hard to create and the lasting impact she continues to have on her students’ academic and personal growth.

Reflecting on her journey, Ms. Shivani remains grateful for the opportunities she has received through ALIEEP, AUM, and Brewbaker Technology Magnet High School. Her story demonstrates how international educators contribute not only to academic achievement but also to workforce development, cultural exchange, and student success throughout Alabama.

She continues to encourage passionate educators from around the world to explore opportunities through ALIEEP’s S.T.E.A.M. Educator Program. By bringing global perspectives into Alabama classrooms, educators like Ms. Shivani help prepare students to succeed in an increasingly interconnected world.
