Montgomery, Alabama, August 11, 2026 – ALIEEP is pleased to recognize a new group of international educators beginning teaching positions in Alabama schools through the RAIE Program. Sireesha Bezawada, Vani Thirumala, Jahnavi Thorra, and Ashley Baez are beginning new chapters in their professional careers, bringing their knowledge, skills, and global perspectives to students and school communities across Alabama.

Sireesha Bezawada and Vani Thirumala have joined Percy Julian High School, where they will contribute to the school community while supporting students in their respective areas of instruction. Jahnavi Thorra has joined Brewbaker Middle School, bringing a strong academic background in mathematics and computer science to her new role.

Ashley Baez has joined Booker T. Washington, beginning a new professional chapter following her studies in the United States. Their transition from international students to educators highlights the opportunities available for international graduates to apply their education and experience while making meaningful contributions to Alabama schools and communities. Together, these educators represent the diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives that international teachers bring to Alabama classrooms.

Each placement represents more than the beginning of a new job. International educators entering Alabama classrooms must navigate a variety of professional requirements, including employment authorization, teacher certification, background checks, examinations, and the transition into a new school environment. Throughout this process, ALIEEP works with candidates and participating schools to provide guidance and help create connections that support successful placement.

The RAIE Program provides a pathway for eligible international graduates and professionals seeking opportunities to continue developing their careers in Alabama. By connecting qualified candidates with participating schools, the program supports international talent while helping Alabama schools identify educators with diverse academic, professional, and cultural backgrounds.

International educators also bring perspectives that extend beyond their subject areas. Their experiences provide opportunities for students and colleagues to learn about different cultures, educational systems, and communities around the world, strengthening the connection between workforce development and international education.

The placement of Sireesha, Vani, Jahnavi, and Ashley reflects the continued collaboration among educators, schools, and community partners working to create meaningful professional opportunities for international talent in Alabama.

ALIEEP congratulates these four educators as they begin the 2026–2027 school year and looks forward to their continued professional growth and the positive contributions they will make to their students, schools, and communities.
