Ms. Shivani working in her office at Brewbaker Technology Magnet High School, preparing engineering lessons and projects.
Montgomery, Alabama, December 8, 2025 — Alabama International Education and Economic Partnership (ALIEEP), a nonprofit supporting multilingual education and workforce development in Alabama, conducted an interview with Ms. Shivani Dasaraju, a S.T.E.A.M. Educator alumnus placed at Brewbaker Technology Magnet High School (BrewTech), where she instructs students in engineering, robotics, and early career (computer science). Ms. Shivani is from Warangal, Telangana, India. Her passion for teaching and enriching minds influenced her decision to apply to the S.T.E.A.M. Educator program.

Reflecting on her experience, Ms. Shivani attested to ALIEEP’s seamless process. Also, she expressed her appreciation for the company’s flexibility and accommodating approach to pressing questions, potential drawbacks, and job placement.

Additionally, Ms. Shivani broached the subject of cultural shock concerning educational structures -scheduling, student/teacher relationships, and assignments. These differences equipped her to leverage her Indian schooling experience to implement hands-on, interactive lessons that stimulate questions.
Ms. Shivani concluded her interview, encouraging passionate teachers who enjoy inquisitive students to apply to ALIEEP’s S.T.E.A.M. Educator Program. She said, “Teachers can bring aspects from their home country’s educational experience to the students. In India, students cannot question their teachers to ensure respect. However, I want my students to ask questions and be curious.”

ALIEEP thanks BrewTech for trusting our organization and realizing Ms. Shivani’s potential. ALIEEP will continue fostering partnerships with Montgomery Public Schools (MPS) and the state of Alabama to successfully place international teachers into the school system. The S.T.E.A.M. educators help cultivate a generation of global leaders.
